Where Flavour Meets Technique: A MONIN Workshop Experience

 


I attended a workshop conducted by MONIN at Amity University, Lucknow, which provided deep insights into advanced beverage craftsmanship beyond basic mixology. The session focused on flavour profiling, balance, and the science of pairing syrups with coffee, mocktails, and modern beverages to enhance aroma, mouthfeel, and aftertaste. We explored how acidity, sweetness, and bitterness interact, especially in coffee-based drinks, and how precise syrup selection can elevate a beverage without overpowering its core character. The workshop also highlighted current global trends in beverage innovation, consistency in professional setups, and the importance of creativity driven by technique rather than random experimentation. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience that strengthened my understanding of contemporary beverage pairing and advanced mixology practices.
